RE: Call for Bids - ICIS 2014
DATE: February 23, 2010
The Site Advisory Subcommittee (SAS) of the ICIS Executive Committee is soliciting preliminary bids for ICIS 2014. Bid procedures can be found at http://home.aisnet.org/displaycommon.cfm?an=1&subarticlenbr=142
The ICIS Executive Committee has established the following rotation schedule as a guideline for future conferences. For bids of equal quality, preference will be rotated through the regions each year. However, other locations will be considered.
2014 - AIS Region 3 - Asia-Pacific
2015 - AIS Region 1 - Americas
2016 - AIS Region 2 - Europe-Africa-Middle East
2017 - AIS Region 3 - Asia-Pacific
While this schedule acts as a guideline, bids may be submitted for any conference. Note that the bid organizers do not have to reside in the proposed conference location.
Prospective conference bidders are requested to complete the AIS Notice of Intent to Bid (NIB) form (http://m360.aisnet.org/admin/forms/ViewForm.aspx?id=14435) and submit it no later than March 15, 2010. Prospective bidders are asked to NOT contact prospective hotels, convention & visitor bureaus, or other such entities until further direction has been provided by the AIS staff. Upon receipt of the NIB, the AIS office will contact the prospective bidders to discuss preliminary steps, offer guidance, and answer any questions related to preparing the bid.
As a past ICIS co-chair I can attest that hosting a major conference of AIS can be a rich and rewarding experience. If you have any questions about bidding and potentially hosting such an event I would welcome your inquiry at: ICISSAS at aisnet.org.
