The Information Systems Program in Carnegie Mellon University at Qatar
invites applications for a post doctoral position. This is a one-year
renewable position, subject to appropriate performance.
The post-doc will be conducting research with Professor Selma Limam
Mansar (view bio: http://www.qatar.cmu.edu/directory/view/103) and
should have an interest in the area of healthcare informatics or
information systems with an emphasis on mobile technologies. Prior
involvement in similar fields is desirable. A current research project
involves the development of a comprehensive obesity management program
that triggers weight loss and effective behavioral changes and is
reinforced through mobile and online technology support for users
(overweight or obese patients) and their mentors (dieticians and
clinicians). The technology solution supports an efficient workflow
process and data exchange between users and mentors and the healthcare
institution.
The position will also involve some support for information systems core
courses (but no more than a third of the time).
The position comes with competitive salaries (aligned with western job
market salaries) and benefits, including a foreign service premium (25%
of base salary), health care coverage, and allowances for housing and
transportation.
Review of applications will begin immediately, and will be accepted
through May 2011, or until the position has been filled. POSITION CAN
BEGIN AS SOON AS INTERVIEWS ARE COMPLETED AND CONTRACTS ISSUED.
Further details of the position and link to submitting applications are
available at: http://qatar.cmu.edu/is/positions
