The impact on the Healthcare sector IS/IT(information systems /
information technology) initiatives primarily in the form of e-health,
electronic medical records and healthcare portals is not only
significant but also far reaching. What becomes imperative is to ensure
high quality, successful and sustainable e-health solutions. For this
mini-track, we invite papers that address all aspects of research in
e-health initiatives including but not limited to electronic medical
records, e-pharmacy, e-healthcard initiatives in various countries as
well as wireless initiatives. Success measurement can be done beforehand
with business modeling, during the project with assessment tools and
after implementation with evaluation tools. We especially encourage
papers that discuss the sustainability and success short term and long
term of the solution. In addition, papers will be fast tracked for a
special issue of IJBET (www.inderscience.com/ijbet).
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
* Internet and networked solutions for superior healthcare
delivery
* Technology use to better manage healthcare
data/information/knowledge
* Business modeling in healthcare
* Wired and/or wireless healthcare initiatives
* The management of information and knowledge in integrated
healthcare systems
* Adoption and evaluation of e-health
* Designing healthcare organizations, systems and processes to
incorporate e-health solutions
* Electronic medical records
* E-health card
* E-health and emergency and disaster relief
* Evaluation and assessment of e-health solutions
* The role of regulations on the diffusion of e-knowledge in
healthcare
* Techniques and tools that facilitate e-knowledge initiatives for
healthcare
* Knowledge management in joint, large scale
(national/international) healthcare operations
