Dear Colleagues around the world:
We are completing ERP (PeopleSoft) implementation at our university (Long Island University is the 8th largest private university in USA with about 25000 students).
As we know, most benefits of ERP implementation are derived from changes and improvements in complementary assets -- BPR and organizational restructuring. In this context, I would like to know the following:
1. What specific BPR and organizational restructuring initiatives have impacted the bottom line of corporate world? And to what extent, the bottom line (revenues, profits, costs) was impacted? Links to any websites and/or research studies are welcome.
2. What specific BPR and organizational restructuring initiatives have impacted the bottom line of academic institutions? And to what extent, the bottom line (revenues, profits, costs) was impacted? Links to any websites and/or research studies are welcome.
3. With respect to academic institutions, I'm particularly interested in knowing about BPR and organizational restructuring initiatives in academic departments and programs.
As is the practice, I'll post a summary of responses ASAP.
Sincerely
Dr. Shailendra Palvia
