Dear colleagues,
Apologies for cross posting.
I would like to attract your attention to the Enterprise Architecture Track at the CONFENIS 2011 Conference.

Website: http://www.confenis2011.aau.dk/

The Fifth International Conference on Research and Practical Issues of Enterprise Information Systems (CONFENIS 2011) will be held in Aalborg, Denmark, October 16-18, 2011. The conference venue is the Utzon Center located at the waterfront in the downtown area of Aalborg.

This conference is a joint effort of the Center for Industrial Production<http://www.cip.aau.dk/>, Aalborg University and theIFIP <http://www.ifip.or.at/> Working Group on Enterprise Information Systems (WG 8.9<http://preweb.clt.odu.edu/ifip/>). CONFENIS is a primary international event which provides an opportunity for Enterprise Information Systems academicians and practitioners in the world to gather, exchange ideas, and present original research and case studies in their fields. Scientists and practitioners are invited to address the current topics in the area or the research frontier at this unique international forum.

IFIP WG 8.9 was inaugurated in 2006 and since then the field of EIS has matured and developed. The time has now come for a more rigid conceptualization and theorizing on EIS. Consequently the aim of this event will be re-conceptualizing Enterprise Information Systems (EIS) – a design perspective.

The conference this year has a particular interest in paper challenging the established concepts of enterprise information systems and has a focus on the design perspective. A doctoral consortium on Design Science Research in Enterprise Information Systems is being held prior to the conference.

The proceedings from the conference and the doctoral consortium will be published by IFIP and Springer and the best papers will be fast tracked to a special issue of the EIS which is the official publication of the WG 8.9. Furthermore authors are invited to enhance their paper for publication in a Taylor & Francis publication on Advanced in Enterprise Information Systems. The deadline for submitting a paper is June, 1.st. 2011.

Call for Papers

As companies prepare to service more and more demanding customers they have to adapt their internal structures to best match current and future demands. Enterprise Architecture is one of the most promising disciplines that can guide companies in structuring work processes and supporting technologies to answer these challenges. However the form in which Enterprise Architecture (EA) has to be shaped is still very much under discussion. Open questions are, among others: the role of business strategy as input to or output of EA; who should be responsible for EA creation and maintenance; where should EA be placed in organizations; the role of information technology in EA initiatives; the size of companies that could take advantage of EA.

The Enterprise Architecture Track<http://www.confenis2011.aau.dk/digitalAssets/20/20005_cfp-ea.pdf> at CONFENIS is a forum dedicated to the presentation and discussion of open questions related to Enterprise Architecture including cases, methods, tools and models that can help to understand and succeed in EA initiatives.

Topics of interest (but not limited to):

- EA Methodologies
- The role of technology in EA
- The interplay between enterprise systems and EA
- EA in SMEs
- Tools to implement EA in SMEs
- EA and services
- EA and Innovation
- The organization and EA
- EA success and failure stories
- Implementation of EA
- Roles in EA initiatives
- EA Modeling
- Leading EA initiatives
- EA and BPM
- EA and Cloud Computing
- SOA and Webservices
