While there is a growing literature on the use of information technology in R&D, relatively little has been written on how IT facilitates innovation in international teams. This research gap is all the more important that the choice of locations and subsequent coordination of R&D is obviously one of the cornerstones of business circles. Coordination of R&D occurs not only within more and more global and international R&D units, but also between suppliers of different cultures and technical competencies.

This workshop aims to bring together top scholars in various disciplines such as information systems, strategic management and innovation to address the most relevant issues in this area. Debates and thinking will be stimulated by a beautiful and invigorating setting in the midst of a pine-tree forest in the French Riviera. Authors of selected papers will present and their paper will be discussed by the entire forum. They will then be invited to submit an extended version of their paper for possible publication in a planned book by Palgrave-McMillan edited by Frantz Rowe and Dov Te’eni.
