Announcing a tenure-track MIS faculty position (starting August 2012) at
Mississippi State University (MSU). The position requires quality research,
excellence in teaching (with a two course per semester teaching load), and
appropriate levels of professional service. The salary is competitive and
commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position is contingent
upon funding. Strong consideration will be given to those scholars with a
record of research in information security and/or to those candidates who
are willing to apply their research interests to the information security
context. Strong consideration will also be given to applicants who have an
interest in teaching in the database area.
MSU is a land grant institution with approximately 20,000 students. The
Management & Information Systems (M&IS) Department is housed within the
College of Business, which is an AACSB-accredited, doctoral degree granting
business school.
The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Information Systems
from an AACSB accredited institution. Those with ABD status may be
considered if degree completion is expected by August 2012. The successful
candidate must demonstrate: (1) a record of or potential to conduct and
publish high quality research that leads to publication in top Information
Systems journals, (2) the motivation and ability to provide quality
instruction in courses in Information Systems, and (3) the motivation and
ability to work effectively within a highly collegial and cohesive academic
department.
