Welcome Letter from the Chair - Anand Jeyaraj
Dear SIGADIT Members,
It has been an eventful year for SIGADIT! Following the successful DIGIT
workshop in St. Louis, SIGADIT has been working to identify ways in
which to better serve its community. Thank you for providing feedback to
a SIGADIT survey earlier this year, which has been very helpful to
identify areas that can be supported by SIGADIT. SIGADIT is again
sponsoring a track on IT adoption and diffusion at AMCIS this year and
pursuing other initiatives.
SIGADIT is in robust shape and continues to attract interest and
participation from researchers in different parts of the world. For
instance, about 35% of participants at the DIGIT 2010 workshop held in
St. Louis came from countries outside of North America. Analytics of
hits to the SIGADIT web site show visitors from various regions,
including Africa, South America, and Asia.
SIGADIT is actively exploring opportunities to diversify to all regions
of the AIS and become a truly global SIG to foster research on IT
adoption and diffusion anywhere in the world. A few highlights:
- JJ Hsieh, from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in Hong Kong, is
the Program Chair
for the DIGIT workshop to be held in Shanghai in conjunction with the
ICIS 2011 conference.
- Annette Mills, from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand, is
the new
VP-Communications for SIGADIT.
- SIGADIT is sponsoring a track on IT adoption and diffusion at ECIS
2012 to be held in
Barcelona, Spain. The track co-chairs include Michael Williams and
Yogesh Dwivedi, both
from Swansea University, UK.
In continuing this growth, SIGADIT would love to sponsor a track on IT
adoption and diffusion at PACIS 2012 to be held in Vietnam. We invite
you to contact any of the SIGADIT officers (http://
www.sigadit.org/index_files/page0001.htm
<http://www.sigadit.org/index_files/page0001.htm> ) if you may be
interested in serving as a track chair, associate editor, or reviewer as
we plan for submitting a track proposal to PACIS 2012.
On behalf of the SIGADIT leadership, I invite you to attend the
SIGADIT-sponsored sessions at AMCIS 2011 in Detroit (USA) and the DIGIT
workshop at ICIS 2011 in Shanghai (China), and also to consider
submitting your work to the SIGADIT-sponsored track at ECIS 2012 in
Barcelona (Spain).
It is my pleasure to serve the SIGADIT community, with valuable support
from the other SIGADIT officers and your feedback and assistance.
Best wishes
Anand Jeyaraj
