Scope and Topics
The MCIS 2012 Conference Committee invites submissions of TRACK PROPOSALS
that address the design of web services, along with their business models,
as well as the development and implementation of information systems that
enhance the use and application of knowledge and expertise in a global
scale, with the aim of supporting co-creation and the development of
innovative solutions to the economic and social challenges that the World
faces today. Tracks that can accept papers within the following topics, but
not limited to the following, are welcomed:
Theories and research methods;
Information Systems that support knowledge management and innovation
in organizations and society;
Crowd wisdom, crowd creation, crowd funding, and crowd democracy:
initiatives and platforms;
Ubiquitous and mobile participation;
Web 2.0 business models;
Green Information Systems
Collaboration and negotiation information systems;
Risk management and systems;
Social media, network analysis;
Intelligent tools to process large amounts of information.

Submission of track proposals
Track Proposals (2 A4 pages maximum) should be sent by October 31st, 2011,
by email to Isabel Ramos (to: iramos at dsi.uminho.pt, cc:rds at dsi.uminho.pt).
Proposals should include an indication of the Track Chairs (names,
affiliations and contact information) and the description of aims, scope and
list of relevant topics of the track. They should also include the type of
accepted contributions: research-in-progress, full papers, posters.
