The Sam Nunn School of International Affairs invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor or Associate Professor position to begin Spring or Fall 2013. The School seeks to hire an individual whose research and teaching directly address the interaction of science & technology and international affairs. Possible research foci include, for example, technology diffusion and absorption, innovation and competitiveness, non-traditional security, environment/energy/natural resources, cyber, development, health, and networks. There exist opportunities for joint appointments with another School at Georgia Tech, in particular those in the Colleges of Sciences, Engineering, and Computing.
Named for former US Senator Sam Nunn whose continued presence and work on global issues inspires our efforts to be both useful and innovative, our school draws on its unique setting at a premier technological university to deliver innovative programs and cutting-edge research that integrate science and technology with the study of international affairs. The School focuses on how technology affects national security, economic well-being and competitiveness, and prospects for international cooperation and conflict. Our School seeks to equip our students with Georgia Tech’s cutting edge technology tools, a global perspective and leadership skills through a new model of professional education that is theoretically grounded and practice and policy oriented.

Applicants should show promise or evidence of outstanding scholarly achievement and be able to teach undergraduate and graduate courses . Interviews will commence immediately and continue until the position is filled. To receive full consideration, application materials should be received by 15 November 2012 and include: (1) a letter of interest describing the candidate’s relevant experience and aspirations, (2) a curriculum vita, and (3) three current letters of recommendation.
