Drexel University’s new College of Computing & Informatics (CCI), located in Philadelphia, PA,
receiving applications for doctoral programs in Information Studies. Admitted candidates will
receive assistantships in the form of research or teaching up to four years,
which will cover tuition and stipends.
CCI serves as a hub for multi-disciplinary computing and informatics activities
by uniting the faculty, professional staff, and students from Drexel’s former College of Information Science
and Technology (the iSchool), the Department of Computer Science in the College of Engineering and
the Department of Computing and Security Technology in Goodwin College of Professional
Studies. CCI comprises 80 faculty members, including 11 recipients of prestigious CAREER awards
from the National Science Foundation, and approximately 2,200 students in graduate and undergraduate programs.
U.S.News & World Report’s 2014 edition of “America’s Best Graduate Schools” ranked Drexel No. 1
in Health Librarianship, No. 3 in Information Systems, and No. 6 in Digital Librarianship.
The College is the home to the National Science Foundation’s Center for Visual and Decision
Informatics (www.nsfcvdi.org<http://www.nsfcvdi.org>), in which our faculty works with 16 industry companies for real-world projects
in the areas of data mining, data integration, social media analysis, gap analytics, visualization,
and healthcare analytics.

The application due date for students who want to apply for RA or who are international students is Feb 1, 2014,
and the due date for those who do not need an assistantship or who want to study part-time is May 1, 2014.
