Open positions in Tampere University of Technology, Finland !!

Department of Information Management and Logistics has opened two tenure track positions on the level of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor to the areas of:

1) information and knowledge management, especially knowledge management in organizational context
2) information and knowledge management, especially business data analytics

Department of Information Management and Logistics operates and is pioneering the areas of business information management, logistics, and transportation systems. The department is part of Faculty of Business and Built Environment in Tampere University of Technology. The Department currently employs six professors and approximately 40 other members of staff.

At the department, research activities focus on knowledge-based value creation, i.e. understanding how data, information, and knowledge create value to organizational activities and decision making. This value creation is approached from two intertwined perspectives: 1) how different kinds of management practices can be used in analyzing and utilizing organizational information and knowledge resources and, 2) how, and what kind of, ICT technologies and other methods and means can be exploited in value creation process. Tenure track positions must be related to the research foci of the department.

The positions are thus defined as follows:
1) information and knowledge management, especially knowledge management in organizational context
2) information and knowledge management, especially business data analytics

Tenure track position on knowledge management in organizational context should focus on one or more of the following issues: organizational culture and learning, linking knowledge management to performance, knowledge-based value creation models and business models, human and intellectual capital, role of ICT in knowledge management, network or community-based knowledge management and value creation, knowledge management in innovation, or measuring the value of knowledge.

Tenure track position on business data analytics should focus on one or more of the following issues in business context: big data, open data, data analytics, data visualization, data warehouses, business intelligence, data science, or value creation and business models based on the previous issues.

All candidates considered for a tenure track position are expected to hold an applicable doctoral degree, demonstrate the capacity for independent scholarly activity and possess the teaching skills required for the successful performance of their duties. They should also have a demonstrated record of acquiring external research funding and managing research projects. Preference will be given to candidates that have supervised graduate or post graduate students, developed university level education, and co-operated with companies or external organizations.

The appointment will be made on a fixed-term basis for four years (Assistant Professor 2nd term and Associate Professor) or on a permanent basis (tenured Professor).
