Emporia State University is seeking qualified candidates to fill a tenure-track, nine-month Computer Science position beginning in August 2014 at the rank of Assistant Professor. The Computer Science program is housed in the School of Business at Emporia State University.

Qualifications: A PhD in Computer Science or a closely-related discipline is required.  Industry experience in computer science is a plus. Teaching the following courses is required: Data structures, Assembly language, Operating systems, Computer architecture, C++, Systems programming, and Software Engineering. 

Assignment: The normal teaching load consists of 12 hours per semester. Research and service responsibilities (department, school, university and professional) are also expected.  Salary is competitive.

Emporia State University is a comprehensive university with an enrollment of approximately 6,000.  The School of Business, with a faculty of 33 provides educational services to approximately 800 students. The School of Business is accredited by AACSB International. The city of Emporia has 26,500 residents, a rich cultural heritage, a diversified economy based on agriculture, more than 33 manufacturing enterprises and retail shopping facilities. The region is noted for the rolling expansive Flint Hills of east central Kansas with major water recreation areas located close by.
