Applications are invited for an Assistant Professorship position in IT Security. The successful applicant would be based in the Department of Information Systems of the School of Business and Economics, University of Muenster.
Possible research areas include cryptography, data and network security, privacy, forensics, intrusion detection and prevention, malware analysis, organizational and economic aspects of information security and privacy.
Assistant Professor (in German: Juniorprofessur, salary grade W1) is a post which offers an opportunity to qualify for full professorship in the German-speaking university system. The appointment is initially for three years with an option of an extension for another three years after successful evaluation.
The teaching load is an equivalent of 4 hours per week for the first three years and 5 hours per week thereafter. The supervision of PhD candidates is welcomed.
The post provides the opportunity to build a research programme. Experience in funded research is valued.
Funding for the position will include funds for a PhD position for at least 3 years.
Applicants should have a PhD degree in computer science, information systems, or a related area.
Applicants should be fluent in English. German language skills are beneficial but not a prerequisite. They should be able to lead a research group and participate in the departmental activities.
