The Institute of Information Systems at the University of Liechtenstein is pleased to announce the following vacancy:
Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) in Information Systems and Data Science

The University of Liechtenstein is young, rooted in its home region, and active around the globe. It is an internationally renowned centre of research and higher education and serves as a think tank in the border region of Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Austria, and Germany. Members of the Institute of Information Systems have published in prestigious IS journals, including Management Information Systems Quarterly (MISQ), Journal of the Association for Information Systems (JAIS), Journal of Management Information Systems (JMIS), and Journal of Information Technology (JIT).

The open position is located at the Hilti Chair of Business Process Management held by Professor Jan vom Brocke. Both research and teaching at the Hilti Chair focus on the design and application of information systems, with a particular emphasis on Business Process Management and Data Science. We are looking for individuals with a Ph.D. in Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or from closely related disciplines, a proven track record of research at international standards, and teaching experience. Preference will be given to candidates focused on (but not limited to) the following topics: data-driven decision making, text mining, social network analysis, statistical learning, and/or big data.

You are expected to develop and drive relevant research agendas, to publish in international top journals, to collaborate in international academic networks, to actively contribute to the acquisition of funding for research projects, to collaborate with industry partners, and to teach IS and Data Science courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. You are highly motivated, you have experience in the rigorous application of theories and empirical research methods, and you want to contribute to shaping the future directions of our research group.

The assistant professor vacancy is a position with an initial appointment for 3 years and the possibility for extension for another 2 years. After successful completion of habilitation, candidates can be promoted as associate professors according to the university's regulations. Knowledge of German language is not essential, but candidates are expected to learn German from the outset of enrollment. Salary is highly competitive.
