Assistant Professor of Computer Information Systems – Tenure Track (Posting

Starting Date: Fall 2016
Salary: AACSB Competitive plus generous benefits
Major Duties:
- Teach computer information systems (CIS) courses that support the
department’s majors and minors (wmich.edu/infosystems/academics)
- Conduct and publish scholarly research in peer-reviewed journals
- Advise and mentor students
- Serve on department, college and university committees as needed
- Appropriately maintain AACSB qualification credentials
Minimum Qualifications:
- Doctorate in CIS, IS, MIS or related field from an AACSB accredited
institution (Doctorate must be completed by December 31, 2016)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Teaching experience with favorable student ratings
- Established record or strong potential for scholarly research
- Teaching/research field preferences (two or more below):
- Able to teach programming courses
- Able to teach business/IT project management courses
- Able to teach/research evolving or emerging fields of business/data
analytics and/or information systems (e.g., predictive analytics, big data,
health analytics, Internet of Things, etc.)
About the Department: There are currently 17 full-time (tenured and term)
faculty of two programs– Computer Information Systems and Business
Communications. Both programs are accredited by the Association to Advance
Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). The Department offers four majors,
Computer Information Systems (CIS), Telecommunications & Information
Management (TIM), Electronic Business Marketing (EBM), and Health
Informatics & Information Management (HiiM), and three minors, Business
Analytics (BA), Computer Information Systems (CIS), and Business Mobile
Development (BMD), as well as an MBA concentration in Computer Information
Systems.
