*Multiple Positions – Computer Information Systems - Appalachian State 
University*

The Department of Computer Information Systems and Supply Chain 
Management in the Walker College of Business at Appalachian State 
University in Boone, NC invites applications for one or more tenure 
track faculty positions in Computer Information Systems beginning Spring 
or Fall Semester 2016, subject to funding.

Minimum qualifications for candidates for tenure track positions include 
an earned doctorate in Information Systems, demonstrated ability to 
conduct high quality research, participation in service activities and 
evidence of strong teaching capability. Other closely related fields and 
ABDs will be considered if their degree is completed prior to the date 
of hire. Instructional duties will include teaching undergraduate and 
graduate-level Computer Information Systems courses in areas such as 
Systems Analysis and Design, Business Analytics, Database, 
Sustainability, Networking, IT Audit, Software Development, Information 
Security and Project Management. Faculty members are expected to 
maintain an active program of scholarship as well as participate in 
service activities. Most tenure-track hires are at the rank of Assistant 
Professor. For more senior rank consideration, a national reputation 
with a strong current record of academic achievement in research, 
teaching and service are required.

Appalachian State University is a member institution of the 
sixteen-campus University of North Carolina. Located in Boone, North 
Carolina, the university has approximately 18,000 students, primarily in 
bachelors and masters programs in both liberal arts and applied fields. 
Appalachian has both a traditional residential campus and a variety of 
distance education programs.
