Opening Position: Postdoctoral Fellowship in Health IT

The position is funded by the Chair in Information Technology in Health Care at HEC Montréal, Québec, Canada. See http://chairetisante.hec.ca/en/?noredirect=en_US
The position is for a 24-month period and can be filled August 1, 2016 (flexible).

This position is focused on the conduct of various forms of standalone literature reviews (scoping review, systematic review, umbrella review) in the area of health IT and medical informatics. Another project will consist of conducting a scoping review of the extant literature on the Internet of Things (IoT) applied in the health care context. Other review projects in the area of health IT will be added to the list.

The individual hired for this position will work with a multi-disciplinary team (IS and medical informatics). There will be many opportunities to publish research at conferences and journals in both areas. Additionally, the individual hired will develop and practice management skills by collaborating with faculty members located in dispersed universities (Canada and USA).

Candidates must have the following qualifications and abilities:

· Completed Ph.D., or expect to have completed it prior to start date, in health IT, medical informatics or a related field

· Proficiency with various review approaches, methods and techniques

· Good knowledge synthesis skills

· Excellent writing skills (in English)

· Good communication skills (possibility to present at conferences)

· Leadership skills (collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team)

· Demonstrated ability to publish in high-quality peer-reviewed academic journals/conferences

· Willingness to learn

Although the work will be exclusively conducted in English, candidates must know that HEC Montreal is a bilingual school. For this reason, a basic knowledge of French would be a plus.

Applications must be sent by email at guy.pare at hec.ca<mailto:guy.pare at hec.ca> and must contain 1) a detailed curriculum vitae; 2) a letter of motivation; and 3) two letters of recommendation.

The annual income (bursary) is about 55,000 $CAN.

Questions must be directed to guy.pare at hec.ca<mailto:guy.pare at hec.ca>. Considerations of candidates will begin on May 15, 2016, and continue until the position is filled.
