Dear Colleagues,

This year ECIS 2016 is organized to include an extensive CIO symposium that
will attract hundreds of IS professionals from Turkey. The Symposium will
be a full-day event on the last day of ECIS, June 15, 2016 (Wednesday).



This forthcoming event has attracted the attention of major media groups in
Turkey and has been discussed in radio, TV, magazines, newspapers and
online environments.



The field of Information Systems is fundamentally an applied field. Our
research is inspired by business and business should be aware of the latest
developments in research. Accordingly, the ECIS 2016-CIO Symposium aims to
bring together the most outstanding academicians from 40+ countries from
around the world with the most distinguished professionals in Turkey. The
keynote speeches and the panels will present and discuss the latest
advances in practice and theory, and we expect that this will generate a
synergistic dialogue among the participants.



For the IS professionals, this event will provide a great opportunity to
observe the direction of current Information Systems research conducted by
academics from around the world. This will stimulate professionals to
achieve competitive advantage through state-of-the-art practice in
business. For the academics, it will be a great networking opportunity to
meet with the top professionals in business.



In the keynote sessions and panels on digital transformation, big data and
social media there will be 15 distinguished CEOs and CIOs from the leading
companies representing IT, IS vendors and IS users in several sectors. They
will discuss challenges and opportunities offered by the advances of the
information revolution in general, including the so-called Industry 4.0
perspectives.  The moderators are leading academicians, who will provide a
comparison of theory and practice as well as identify new directions for IS
research.
