[AISWorld] Summer School "Digital Strategies for Internationalization" - Portugal, Sept 4-10

Dear All,

We are pleased to announce the Summer School with the theme "Digital
Strategies for Internationalization" which will run from 04 to 10 September
2016 at the University of Minho in Portugal.

This course aims at developing skills to define and implement digital
strategies that favor the internationalization of organizations (public,
private or civil society). In this course, Konstanze Alex-Brown (Corporate
Social and University Influencer Relations Manager at Dell, Texas Tech
University), Ari Lightman (Carnegie Mellon University) and Araci Hack
Catapan (Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil) will present
concepts and approaches to develop successful online strategies with the
support of social media, gamification, crowdsourcing,  web influencers, and
intelligent technologies. The Monastery of Tibães (www.mosteirodetibaes.org),
will be used as a case study for the practical exploration of the presented
concepts and approaches (see the agenda at

This course is intended for doctoral and post-doctoral researchers.

The course is organized by the Portuguese Association for Information
Systems / Portuguese Chapter of the Association for Information Systems (
www.ptais.org) in conjunction with the Doctoral Program in information
Systems and Technology of the Engineering School of the University of Minho
(Guimarães/Portugal). It also has a partnership with the Monastery of St.
Martin of Tibães, former Mother House of the Portuguese Benedictine
Congregation, and heritage managed by the Regional Directorate of Northern
Culture / Ministry of Culture of Portugal.

Guimarães is located in northwestern Portugal, about 50km from the second
largest city, Porto. The nearest airport is Francisco Sá Carneiro
International Airport in Porto. There’s a shuttle from the Airport to
Guimarães (GetBus). Costs 8 € the single trip.

The sessions will take place at the Department of Information Systems,
University of Minho, Guimaraes, Portugal. The course language is English
and it is expected that participants use their own laptop whenever
necessary.

The course registration will cost 300 € / person, which also includes
lunch, dinner and coffee breaks during the period of the course. The amount
can be paid by bank transfer or paypal.

The course will be held only if a minimum of 25 participants is ensured.
The maximum number of participants is 30. If you are interested in the
