Alan R Dennis is stepping down as founding Editor-in-Chief Foundations and Trends(r) in Information Systems; Joey F. George is the new EIC.
Alan R. Dennis, the John T. Chambers Chair of Internet Systems in the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, was the first Editor-in-Chief of Foundations and Trends(r) in Information Systems<http://www.nowpublishers.com/ISY>. The journal, which focuses on research reviews and monographs, began publication in June 2015. After a three-year term, Professor Dennis is stepping down. The new EIC is Joey F. George, the John D. DeVries Endowed Chair in Business at Iowa State University.
Foundations and Trends(r) in Information Systems (Print ISSN: 2331-1231; Online ISSN: 2331-124X) is published by now publishers inc. and is part of a series of Foundations and Trends(r) journals. The second volume, first issue, has just been published. Its editorial aims are as follows:
"Foundations and Trends(r) in Information Systems publishes high-quality survey and tutorial monographs of the field using modern techniques to enable both instant linking to the primary research in its electronic form and affordable paper copies, finally delivering on the promise to authors of multiple channel publishing from a single source.
Each issue of Foundations and Trends(r) in Information Systems comprises a 50-100+ page monograph written by research leaders in the field. Monographs that give tutorial coverage of subjects, research retrospectives as well as survey papers that offer state-of-the-art reviews fall within the scope of the journal."
Foundations and Trends(r) in Information Systems is available to members of the Association for Information Systems through its electronic library.
Joey F. George is currently a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Management Information Systems. He has also served as Senior Editor for MIS Quarterly and Information Systems Research and the EIC of Communications of the AIS.
