Applications are invited from a suitably qualified candidate(s) for the position of Lecturer or Senior Lecturer of Business Information Systems at the Auckland University of Technology Business School.

The Department of Business Information Systems (BIS) has an established PhD programme, Masters' degree specialisation and a major in the AUT Bachelor of Business. The BIS Department consists of a dynamic group of academics, who are passionate about research, teaching and contributing to scholarship. We actively study broad areas of research related to the social and organisational aspects of IT at the individual, organisational and societal levels. We also conduct research into operations and supply chain management. Current faculty members have research interests in IT governance, health IT, ICT for wellbeing and development, logistics and supply chain management, and enterprise systems.

We are seeking a candidate who has a strong research programme and a commitment to teaching excellence. The candidate must demonstrate a commitment to engage in research that produces high-quality publications in peer-reviewed journals. Candidates for the Senior Lecturer position must have a proven research record which includes high quality publications in peer-reviewed journals that make important theoretical contributions.
Candidates should also be able to demonstrate their dedication to teaching activities at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels (including Masters, MBA and PhD). Experience in innovative teaching practices will be an advantage. Candidates should be able to teach one or more of the following courses: introduction to information systems, database systems, business process management, data analytics, enterprise systems, IS strategy, and system analysis and development. The ability to teach operations management and logistics and supply chain management is useful.
Qualifications: A completed Ph.D. in Information Systems or related discipline (or close to completion for the Lecturer position), a demonstrated ability to conduct high quality research, and evidence of teaching excellence (or the ability to develop such excellence). We seek individuals who have outstanding communication skills and value collegiality among peers and stakeholders.
