Dear Colleagues,
Several years ago I wrote a book entitled “The Ghost of Socrates: Exploring
Philosophical Issues in Information Systems” which I never got around to
publishing. I just reread it, made a few corrections and uploaded it to
Academia.edu where you can download it for free if you are so inclined.
It explores a number of philosophical issues (privacy, machine
intelligence, teleology, and the relationship between science and
technology) in a breezy accessible style. I think you will find it as
readable as it is thought provoking. Just go to academia.edu type, “Ghost
of Socrates” into search and click on the title. Following is the table of
contents.
