The School of Economic and Business Sciences (SEBS) is one of five schools in the Faculty of Commerce, Law and Management at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg ,South Africa. The school offers an active research environment and unrivalled access to industry and international bodies, as a result of being located in the country's industrial heartland. It delivers both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Economics, Marketing, Information Systems, Human Resources Management, Management, Finance and Insurance. SEBS invites applications for the above position.

Applicants for this position are expected to hold a Master's degree in Information Systems (or Informatics), together with an undergraduate degree (BCom or BSc) with a major in Information Systems (or Informatics). Those who have made progress towards a PhD will be given preference, as will those who have accredited research publications.

The successful applicant will be expected to:

*         Actively participate in research and supervise postgraduate students

*         Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses

*         Participate actively in the running of the school through academic citizenship and administrative activities

Applicants should have prior experience in a higher education environment, with demonstrated ability to design, deliver and administer courses. Areas of particular interest include: Introduction to Information Systems, Systems Analysis & Design, Database Design and Programming.

Remuneration: A competitive salary package will be offered.
