2 x Lecturer in Information Systems (IS) VC2020

As part of our VC2020 lectureship programme, De Montfort University (UK) are
looking for two outstanding new Lecturers in Information Systems.

DMU was awarded Gold in the recent Teaching Excellence Framework. This
achievement recognises a range of strengths for which DMU has become
well-known teaching excellence, an outstanding student experience, high
student employability, a wide range of volunteering opportunities, a
determination to widen participation in higher education, and an unwavering
commitment to improving student achievement.

Faculty / Directorate
The School of Computer Science and Informatics offers industry standard
facilities like our Cyber Security Centre and works with partners like Airbus and
Deloitte. A researched environment, the School of Engineering and Sustainable
Development equips students with the skills and specialist knowledge to solve
real-world problems.

Role
You will be expected to have some teaching experience and teach across a
wide portfolio of information systems topics including Project Management,
Systems Analysis and Design, Database and Service Management and
Business Intelligence/Data Analytics. Familiarity with PRINCE, ITIL and/or SAS
would be an advantage, as would a background in research in information
systems. You will also be expected to engage with the Information Society
Doctoral Programme (ISDP), and the supervision of undergraduate and
postgraduate dissertations.

Ideal Candidate
You will have a PhD in an appropriate information systems area, and be
publishing or seeking to publish in internationally excellent journals. On
appointment you will develop a research portfolio, working towards submission
in the next REF. Information Systems research work is situated under the
umbrella of the Centre for Computing and Social Responsibility (CCSR), and
applicants would be welcomed as CCSR members and to contribute to its work
and objectives.

This position is an ideal next step if you are in the early stages of your career.
The School is highly collegiate and appropriate training and support will be
offered to aid your development. The role will attract a 50% time allocation for
research and scholarly activity for the first year in post.
