assistant/associate position in Operations Management and information systems (omis)
The Operations Management and Information Systems (OMIS) Area of the Schulich School of Business, York University invites applicants for a tenure-track professorial stream appointment in Information Systems, at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, to commence July 1, 2019. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. All University positions are subject to budgetary approval.
Preference will be given to candidates who are able to effectively communicate with both undergraduate and senior managerial audiences in graduate and executive education settings as well as supervise PhD candidates.
Specifically, successful applicants should be able to teach in the BBA and MBA Programs and should have potential to teach in the Masters of Supply Chain Program or the Masters of Business Analytics Program. Preferred candidates will have a PhD in Information Systems, or related fields. The candidate should be suitable for prompt appointment to the Faculty of Graduate Studies. Pedagogical innovation in high priority areas such as experiential education and technology enhanced learning is preferred.
Demonstrated outstanding research and scholarship (or potential) is evidenced by publications or late-round revisions in top IS journals such as MISQ and ISR, or other relevant top-tier journals such as those in the FT50 and who have evidence of teaching effectiveness. Experience in curriculum development is an asset.
We are specifically looking for candidates who do research in digital transformation, data security, artificial intelligence and/or data integration, and who can integrate computation, computing and information technology for 'real world' decision making.
