The Paul Merage School of Business at the University of California, Irvine is seeking candidates to fill three open positions:  tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Information Systems, Professor of Teaching (payroll title: Lecturer SOE) and Visiting Scholar - all to begin as early as July 1, 2019 pending Budget approval.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Tenure-Track Assistant Professor: We are seeking individuals with active research programs in Information Systems, especially candidates who specialize in Business Analytics or in the Economics of Information Systems. Preference will be given to candidates who are qualified to teach courses in advanced data analytics (e.g. machine learning, deep learning, big data management, and data architecture). Potential for excellent teaching in the MBA core is also desirable. A Ph.D. in Information Systems or relevant discipline, completed by Summer 2019, is required. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Professor of Teaching (payroll title: Lecturer with Security of Employment): We are seeking individuals with a commitment to excellence in teaching and research (academic, professional, and/or pedagogic) in Information Systems and in service to the University and the academy. Preference may be given to candidates who demonstrate evidence of or the potential for excellent teaching in the MBA core and/or are qualified to teach courses in advanced data analytics (e.g. machine learning, natural language processing, and big data management). A Ph.D. in Information Systems or other relevant discipline, completed by Summer 2019, is required. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.


Visiting Scholar: We are seeking individuals with active research programs in information systems, preferably with a data analytics focus, that target top journals. The School is committed to research and scholarship with teaching responsibilities in Ph.D., MBA and Undergraduate Programs. A Ph.D. in Information Systems, or relevant discipline completed by Summer 2019 is required. Salary will be commensurate with prior performance and experience. We will also consider faculty that have full-time positions at other universities but are interested in a one- or two-year visiting appointment.
