Do you want to contribute to ambitious research on how human skills and capabilities can be strengthened in the emerging digital age?

We are now looking for enthusiastic and motivated scientists from various research fields to join our Generation Z and Beyond (GenZ) research programme at the University of Oulu. GenZ is an interdisciplinary research programme exploring and strengthening human capabilities, anticipating future challenges, and increasing human resilience in the digital era. As new technologies and technological solutions are becoming more intelligent, invisible and ubiquitous, the complex entanglement of these technologies with human everyday life is evident. To understand this process better, we need interdisciplinary research and collaboration.

The GenZ research hub tackles this research gap by bridging research disciplines from five different faculties: Education, Humanities, Information Technology and Electrical Engineering, Science (Human geography) and Business School. Our mission is to 1) identify and describe human practices, processes and strategies that are natural to human beings and which technologies and machines lack, 2) create knowledge about the still unknown features of changing work life, 3) strengthen intelligent behaviour of individuals, communities and ecosystems, and 4) renew research methods in human sciences to answer questions that arise from the GenZ research.

The GenZ research programme includes three broad research themes: Co-evolution, Co-creation and Resilience. Within these themes we are now inviting tenure track applications for the following focus areas:

*                        Human-centred design and digitalization, https://rekry.saima.fi/certiahome/open_job_view.html?did=5600&jc=1&id=00006652&lang=en
* Co-evolution of human capabilities and emerging technologies, https://rekry.saima.fi/certiahome/open_job_view.html?did=5600&jc=1&id=00006651&lang=en
* Resilience in intelligent technology -based ecosystems, https://rekry.saima.fi/certiahome/open_job_view.html?did=5600&jc=1&id=00006655&lang=en
* Methodological solutions to studying and using emerging technologies in human science research, https://rekry.saima.fi/certiahome/open_job_view.html?did=5600&jc=1&id=00006654&lang=en
*                        Human-technology development in intelligent socio-technical futures, https://rekry.saima.fi/certiahome/open_job_view.html?did=5600&jc=1&id=00006653&lang=en

The tenure track positions are open to highly talented individuals from various scientific fields who hold a doctoral degree and have excellent potential for a successful scientific career. Based on your experience and competence, you can be placed at the level of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Full Professor or Distinguished Professor. The positions also include a start-up package for establishing a research team, which will be negotiated with the successful applicant and be dependent on the applicant's career level.
