CONFERENCE THEME

The IACIS International Conference provides a showcase for the latest research in practice and pedagogical topics that focus on how information systems are used to support organizations or enhance the educational process. The theme of this year’s conference is Cybersecurity. This theme revolves around everything we do in life -- professionally and personally. Within the academic community, we strive to design cybersecurity curriculum with fundamentals and advanced subjects to teach students about security threats, vulnerability, and prevention. Institutions of higher education have begun to bridge their cybersecurity curriculum to the guidelines set aside by Center for Academic Excellence (sponsored by NSA and DHS), where the goal is to promote research in cyber defense and produce graduates with cyber defense expertise. This year’s theme underlines the importance of the critical education and preparedness of students to protect information infrastructure.
