ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR, SENIOR LECTURER, LECTURER - INFORMATION SYSTEMS - FULL TIME

The School of Economic and Business Sciences (SEBS) is one of five schools in the Faculty of Commerce, Law and Management at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. The school offers an active research environment and unrivalled access to industry and international bodies, as a result of being located in the country's industrial heartland. It delivers both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Economics, Marketing, Information Systems, Human Resources Management, Management, Finance and Insurance. Requirements for Associate Professor level:
- A PhD in Information Systems
- A Bachelor's degree with a major in Information Systems
- Demonstrable experience in a research leadership role, including a track record of publication in high impact factor journals
- Demonstrable experience in curriculum development and course administration, together with substantial teaching experience

Requirements for Senior Lecturer level:
- A PhD in Information Systems
- A Bachelor's degree with a major in Information Systems
- Demonstrable experience in a research leadership role, including a track record of accredited publications
- Demonstrable experience in curriculum development and course administration, together with substantial teaching experience

Requirements for Lecturer level:
- A Master's degree in Information Systems (registration for, or progress towards, a PhD preferred)
- A Bachelor's degree with a major in Information Systems
- Existing accredited publications will be an advantage
- Demonstrable experience in curriculum development and course administration, together with teaching experience

Additional requirements for ALL levels:
It should be noted that the Division is looking to hire in the core Information Systems areas of systems analysis and design; database design; and systems development and implementation (coding/programming). Preference will be given to applicants with depth of knowledge and proven experience in one (1) or more of these areas. A track record of work experience in a technology-related role will also be advantageous.

Expectations of successful applicant:
- Actively participate in research and supervise postgraduate students
- Design, teach and administer undergraduate and postgraduate courses
- Engaged participation in the running of the Division through academic citizenship and administrative activities
