Special Interest Group on Decision Support and Analytics (SIGDSA) is seeking forward-thinking research in the areas of decision support, data analytics, and business intelligence, with a special focus on understanding the applications and issues associated with creating innovative applications, products and services to achieve organizational and societal benefits. In concert with the ICIS theme and celebration of the 50th anniversary of the birth of the internet, we encourage exploration of the ways that decision support has evolved to support innovation ecosystems.
The explosive growth in big data and advancements in data analytics techniques have presented new opportunities and challenges to decision makers. Data analytics not only facilitates and expedites organizational decision-making processes but also enables innovations in business applications, products, and services to generate value in the form of increased productivity and customer satisfaction. * Methodological issues of developing systems based on connected, big data
Submission Categories in Research Track
Completed Research Papers
Completed research papers are full-length papers documenting the results of finished research projects. They should be similar to journal submissions, but shorter. They should include analyses and results. Completed research papers must not exceed fourteen (14) single-spaced pages. All text, figures, tables, and appendices must be included within the page limit. The abstract, keywords and references are excluded from this page count.
Research-in-Progress Papers
Research-in-progress papers typically describe work that is promising, but ongoing and incomplete. Research-in-progress papers must not exceed seven (7) single-spaced pages. All text, figures, tables, and appendices must be included within the page limit. The abstract, keywords and references are excluded from this page count.
If accepted, research-in-progress papers will be presented as part of a slam presentation session and an e-poster session, as described below.
Slam Session: Each paper will be allocated a maximum of 4 minutes and 3 slides (including title slide) for a presentation. Click to download the PreICIS-SIGDSA-2019-Slam-Session-Template<https://preicis2018sigdsa.files.wordpress.com/2018/11/preicis-sigdsa-2018-slam-session-template1.pptx>.
E-Poster Session: In addition to the slam session, research-in-progress presenters will be participating in the E-Poster session. An E-Poster in this symposium is an electronic poster displayed digitally on a personal laptop or a large tablet instead of being printed on paper as a traditional poster. Research-in-Progress category participants should create a 1-page PDF or PowerPoint slide for the digital poster based on their study. There is no set format for the e-poster as long as it is a single viewable page. Please use large fonts and effective visualizations as appropriate. Tables will be provided to set up the laptops for the e-poster session. Note that power cords are not available during the session and we strongly encourage the presenters to have a pre-charged laptop available for the session. Presenters should also bring any devices or supplementary accessories as needed.

All original submissions and camera-ready versions must conform to the submission template. Download the submission template here<https://preicis2018sigdsa.files.wordpress.com/2018/06/sigdsa2018_submission_template.docx>. Original submissions must NOT contain any author information.
