The College of Business (CoB) at University of Rhode Island (URI) invites
applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in the
Business Analytics and Artificial Intelligence (BAI) area.  The position
begins in August 2020.  Successful candidates will be expected to
participate in high quality research program and publish in leading Data
Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or Artificial
Intelligence journals.


APPLICATION DEADLINE:

The search will remain open until the position is filled. First
consideration will be given to applications received by November 1, 2019.
Second consideration may be given to applications received by February 14,
2020. Applications received subsequent to second consideration date
(February 14, 2020) may not be given full consideration.


BASIC FUNCTION:

Develop and teach offline/online undergraduate and graduate courses in
Business Analytics and Artificial Intelligence. Engage in research
activities in any of the areas in which s/he teaches that will lead to
publications in targeted refereed journals. Work with the business
community in the state and region. Write and obtain grants from well
recognized government or NGO agencies (e.g. NIH, NSF, McArthur Foundation,
etc).


QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRED:

1. A doctoral degree in business or related areas with a concentration in
Information Systems, Business Analytics, and Artificial Intelligence from
an AACSB accredited institution or expect completion of such a degree prior
to August 2020.

2. Demonstrated ability to teach effectively at all levels.

3. Demonstrated ability to a record of teaching excellence and quality
scholarship.

4. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.


PREFERRED:

1. Preference will be given to candidates who are well qualified to teach
undergraduate and graduate courses in Artificial Intelligence.

2. Teaching experiences in the areas of Business Analytics and Artificial
Intelligence such as Programming (e.g., R, Python), Data Visualization,
NoSQL Database Management, Artificial Intelligence in a business context,
Blockchain technologies, IS in Business, Business Intelligence, and/or Data
Analytics are desirable.
