TEACHING FACULTY I, 12 Month Salaried

The School of Information at Florida State University is seeking to fill
one (1) visiting 12 month teaching faculty position in Information
Technology, at the Teaching Faculty I level. This is a one year visiting
specialized faculty position, with potential to be renewed for one
additional year.

We are seeking a specialized faculty colleague at the rank of Teaching
Faculty I who will teach courses in areas of information technology (IT),
including technology leadership and management of information technology,
social media, IT communication, and web technology systems. The School of
Information is involved in a wide range of technology areas including,
database and web development, user experience design, mobile application
development, social media, IT project management, and network
administration. The specialized faculty position will focus on teaching in
IT and will support experiential learning in IT and social media projects.

The School of Information at Florida State University is seeking to fill
one (1) twelve-month, non- tenure-track visiting specialized faculty
position in Information Technology, at the Teaching Faculty I level.
Candidates should be able to support a teaching agenda that fits within the
broader interests of the iSchool, and demonstrate the ability to work
effectively within a highly interdisciplinary environment. Successful
applicants will be expected to teach at all levels, including courses in
the school's undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degree programs.
Experience with teaching online as well as face-to-face is desired. The
successful candidate would teach 4 courses for 3 semesters (fall, summer
and spring). All faculty members are expected to advise students and to
serve on School, College, and University committees.

Qualified applicants will have a Ph.D. from an accredited institution or
the highest degree appropriate in Information Science, Information
Technology, Computer Science, or another relevant discipline with a
demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and
service.

*The School of Information*
The School of Information is one of three academic units within the College
of Communication and Information at Florida State University. The FSU
iSchool offers a Bachelor’s degree program with majors in Information
Technology (IT) and Information, Communication, and Technology (ICT);
Master’s degree programs in Information and Information Technology; a
post-Master’s Specialist degree in Information; and a Ph.D. program in
Information.  The iSchool faculty also operate the Social Media Lab, the
iSensor Lab, and are founding partners in FSU’s Innovation Hub (iHub), an
innovation center and fab lab/makerspace for teaching and research with
technologies including 3D printing and 3D visualization.

The School of Information began in 1926, was formally founded in 1947, and
is nationally ranked among the top information science graduate schools in
the country. The iSchool’s Information Technology Masters’ program is
nationally ranked at #10 among graduate IT programs, and the ALA-accredited
Master’s in Information is ranked among U.S. News & World Report’s “Best
Graduate Programs in Library and Information Science” at 11th overall, 7th
in Youth Services, and 1st in School Library Media.

School of Information faculty have been awarded over $50 million in
federal, state, local, and foundation research grants, and maintain a
strong connection to the community through various literacy and service
