The Department of Information Technology and Decision Sciences (ITDS) in the G. Brint Ryan Collee of Business (RCOB) at the University of North Texas (UNT) is comprised of two academic disciplines, Information Systems and Management Science. The ITDS department has 26 research and teaching faculty whose mission is to conduct cutting edge research and prepare the next generation of information systems, management science, and business analytics professionals. Our department offers degrees at the bachelors, masters, and PhD levels. Four of our degrees are STEM-designated -- BS in IS and BBA. MBA, and MS in Business Analytics. We plan to offer a new STEM-designated MS in IS starting Fall 2021. ITDS has a long track record of producing well-prepared, motivated, and successful business professionals and academicians, RCOB is AACSB accredited, and UNT is a Carnegie R-1 university.
We have a newly posted position for an Assistant Professor of Business Analytics / Data Analytics / Decision Sciences / Management Science at https://jobs.untsystem.edu/postings/34302. But since creating it, we've had a faculty meeting, got our proposal approved to create a MS-IS, and decided to develop a cyber+analytics (haven't even decided what we're going to call it yet) curriculum as part of our MS-IS. We are determined to become a world class center of excellence in that area. We have the faculty, curriculum, and ability to develop a very strong cyber+ analytics program and by September 2020, we will have five strong cyber faculty (we have four now) and a very strong analytics faculty, with three more tenure-track colleagues joining us in the Fall.
Time is of the essence, so if you have a relevant PhD and you'd like to be part of the team creating this exciting new program in a great department in a fine college, and you have the interest and proven ability in analytics for cyber, please apply for this position ASAP and drop me a line so I'll know your application is there.
Best wishes,
Leon
