Please join SIGGIS at the virtual AMCIS 2020 Event for our Annual Meeting,
2 workshops and 1 mini-track.
Tuesday, August 11, 2020-8:30am - 9:30am (MDT)
SIGGIS Annual Business Meeting. This is the SIGGIS Annual Meeting where we
will discuss our current efforts, future directions, and a brainstorming
session regarding goals and objectives.

SIGGIS Demonstration: Intersection of Social Media Analytics and GeoAI.
Today, Social Media such as Twitter, Reddit, and Facebook, have become de
facto global communication channels to disseminate news, entertainment, and
one’s self-revelations. This workshop will specifically examine the
intersection of Social Media data management, preprocessing using Machine
Learning (Natural Language Processing), and evaluation using GeoAI.
Wednesday, August 12, 2020 8:30am - 9:30am (MDT)
SIGGIS Primer: GIS and Social Media. The current Social Media / GIS
landscape will be summarized and discussed along with the findings from the
recent ISPRS International Journal of Geo-Information Special Issue on
"Convergence of GIS and Social Media".
TBA SIGGIS Minitrack (Paper Session)
There is no cost to attend these events other than the AMCIS 2020
registration fee.
