SIGIR 2020 Call for Participation

The SIGIR 2020 invites scholars, researchers, students, professions and the
general public to participate in the various activities deployed from July
25-30, 2020. SIGIR is the premier scientific conference in the broad area
of information retrieval. Due to the pandemic of COVID-19, SIGIR 2020
becomes the first virtual conference in SIGIR history. The virtual
conference will be integrated with user-friendly interface, and
sophisticated speaker and audience interaction techniques. The registration
site (https://cvent.me/GVlxE7) is now open (all-inclusive registration
rate: student $45, non-student $115).

In 2020, SIGIR has the highest number of submitted papers in history. The
conference is composed of multiple sessions with a wide range of topics,
including: Neural IR and Semantic Matching, Knowledge and Explainability,
Graph-based Analysis, Knowledge for Personalization, User Behavior and
Experience, Evaluation, Bias and Fairness, Learning to Rank, Question
Answering, Query and Representation, Graph-based Recommendation, Neural
Networks and Embedding, Domain Specific Applications 1-2, Learning for
Recommendation, Information Access and Filtering, Neural Collaborative
Filtering 1-2,  Context-aware Modeling, Conversation and Interactive IR,
Text Classification and Transfer Learning, Domain Specific Retrieval Tasks,
Multi-modal Retrieval and Ranking, Sequential Recommendation, Industrial
Session I-VI, Short/Demo/TOIS paper session I-II.

In addition to above tracks, SIGIR 2020 features 6 keynote speakers, 2
invited talks for this year's industry track - Symposium on IR in Practice
(SIRIP), 8 pre-conference tutorials, 8 workshops, and 14 doctoral
consortium papers. We are honored to have the following 6 distinguished
keynote speakers: Geoffrey E. Hinton (Google & University of Toronto,
Canada), Norbert Fuhr, (University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany), Ellen
Voorhees (NIST, USA), Dacheng Tao (University of Sydney, Australia),
Zongben Xu (Xi'an Jiaotong University, China) and Elizabeth F. Churchill
(Google, USA). We are also delighted to have 2 invited industry speakers:
Dr. Rong Jin (Ali Baba, China), and Dr. Roise Jones (Spotify, USA).
