Position Announcement
The School of Information Systems and Management (SISM) of the Muma College of Business at the University of South Florida (USF) is searching for outstanding candidates to fill three (3) open rank tenure-track faculty positions in the Cybersecurity area. One position is located on the Tampa campus and two positions are located on the Sarasota-Manatee campus. The candidate will be responsible for conducting research and applying for grants in the cybersecurity field, as well as to teach courses related to cybersecurity. Responsibilities will also include service activities that support the mission of the Muma College of Business and the Tampa Bay community. A special feature of the position is a close association with Cyber Florida. Cyber Florida (https://cyberflorida.org/) leads and coordinates cybersecurity research, education and outreach across the State of Florida and beyond. The Center fosters collaboration between higher education, government, defense and business communities to share knowledge, resources and training opportunities that help mitigate cybersecurity threats and capitalize on opportunities for innovative solutions.
Candidates must at minimum have a Ph.D. degree in Information Systems, or a related discipline such as Operations, Management Science, Computer Science, or Information Security and must provide evidence of meeting AACSB faculty qualification requirements. Candidates who will successfully complete all requirements for their doctorate degree by December 2020, including final dissertation defense, may apply. Preference will be given to candidates who can teach core and elective courses in the Cybersecurity MS and Undergraduate Programs. Such candidates will have a track record and sustained interest in research related to cybersecurity. They will also have experience in professional academic programs, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work with a range of stakeholders both inside and outside academia to include local Tampa Bay businesses.
The School of Information Systems and Management at the Muma College of Business includes faculty members who engage in fundamental research in management, information systems, and data analytics, collaborate in interdisciplinary research programs, and publish in the leading journals in management, information systems and data analytics. The School serves a wide variety of undergraduate and graduate programs at the college and university levels including the BS in Business Administration with major and minors in Management & MIS, MS in Management, MS in MIS, MS in Cybersecurity, MBA, Executive MBA, Ph.D., and DBA.
