Dear all,

This initiative is a good way to reward innovativeness, creativity, and responsiveness. However, since Covid-19 has led to many students experiencing increased anxiety, social isolation and grief, I believe care should be taken not to exacerbate these by including reminders of the pandemic in learning material. Kindness matters.

One way to avoid that would be to tweak the focus to emphasise emergencies, instead of Covid-19 specifically, since those are of perennial importance, and are likely to become more frequent in the future. So, I suggest renaming the awards to "AIS Emergency Learning Action Awards".

Regards
 Harminder
