CALL FOR PARTICIPATION:

*********************************************************************
8th European Conference and Service-Oriented and Cloud Computing (ESOCC
2020)
28-30 September 2020
*********************************************************************
The European Conference on Service-Oriented and Cloud Computing (ESOCC) is
the premier conference on advances in the state of the art and practice of
service-oriented computing and cloud computing in Europe. The main
objectives of this conference are to facilitate the exchange between
researchers and practitioners in the areas of service-oriented computing
and cloud computing, as well as to explore the new trends in those areas
and foster future collaborations in Europe and beyond.

-------------
E-Conference
-------------

Due to the current serious medical situation across the whole world caused
by the coronavirus, ESOCC 2020 will be held in the form of an electronic
conference. To this end, we have made our best efforts in order to
guarantee an enhanced digital experience for the ESOCC attendees and
presenters. Apart from using zoom as an well-known and reputable
e-conference system, we have a very rich programme (
https://esocc-conf.eu/index.php/schedule/) which includes 4 tracks, 3
keynote presentations, one invited talk, 17 paper presentations and 6
project presentations. Furthermore, during breakouts, author-specific rooms
will be allocated in order to allow a synchronous communication with the
presenters after their session is over.

-------------
FOUR TRACKS
-------------

ESOCC 2020 has 4 tracks:
- Main conference: two half-days, to accommodate the attendees restricted
work programme, full of invited talks and presentations of selected,
high-quality research papers related to service-oriented and cloud
computing.
- PhD Symposium: here Ph.D. students have the opportunity to present their
work, even at an early stage, to a panel of experienced professors and
researchers, which can supply valuable comments for its improvement.
- European Projects Track: an extremely useful opportunity for researchers
around Europe to disseminate the latest research developments in their
projects. This year this track also involves an invited talk concerning the
H-Cloud initiative.
- Satellite workshops: two satellite workshops will be held on the first
day of the conference: EdgeWays (http://edgeways20.inf.unibz.it/) and
WESOACS (http://destini2020.eu/wesoacs2020/) with 10 research papers in
total as well as an invited talk

-------------
INVITED TALKS / KEYNOTES
-------------

(a) Federico Facca (Martel Innovate) & (b) Elhadj Benkhelifa (Staffordshire
University, UK) in the first conference day as well as (c) Massimo Villari
(University of Messina, Italy) and (d) Josef Spillner (Zurich University of
Applied Sciences, Switzerland) in the next two days of the conference,
respectively, will give outstanding talks on: (a) H-Cloud, an open
community of European Cloud stakeholders, (b) context-aware collaborative
cloud-based software development, (c) the new paradigm of osmotic computing
and (d) the research insights and challenges on how to best exploit the
FaaS cloud delivery model.
