The University of Alabama Culverhouse College of Business is seeking
outstanding PhD candidates in Management Information System to start in
August 2021.  To be eligible for the position, applicants must have a
Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related discipline and excellent
academic qualifications. Preference will be given to candidates with
demonstrated industry and/or research experience.

THE PHD PROGRAM

The program is a 4-year degree that provides students with world-class
training through extensive coursework and personalized supervision.
Throughout the degree, students are encouraged to develop their research
skills to address the most pressing business problems facing society.
Faculty research areas include: cyber security, privacy, IT identity,
software development, economics of IS, healthcare etc. We have a wide range
of research methods expertise with our new faculty bringing strong
behaivoral and qualitative methods to the already existing quantitative
expertise.

ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible for the program, applicants must have completed a
baccalaureate degree in information systems, computer science, business
analytics, or engineering from a regionally accredited college or
university or from a recognized university abroad. Preference will be given
to applicants that have completed a graduate degree in this field.
Additionally, students must have earned a combined score of 650 or higher
on the verbal and quantitative sections of the GMAT or an equivalent GRE
score. Preference will also be given to applicants that have demonstrated
work experience in IT-related positions in industry.

THE ASSISTANTSHIP

We offer 4-year assistantships that cover tuition and fees and provide an
annual stipend of $21,500 ($16,500 over 9 months and $5,000 over summer).
In addition to this stipend, scholarship recipients will receive health
insurance and research support in return for carrying out specific teaching
and research responsibilities.
