JSIS PERFORMANCE … I’m pleased to briefly report to the IS community on The Journal of Strategic Information Systems performance based on impact factor scores. In June 2020, impact factors from the Journal Citations Reports database produced by Clarivate Analytics were announced. Data is from 2019, which is the most recent year, and was updated in June 2020. Sincere thanks to all supporters of the journal - board members, reviewers and authors, but particularly the Senior Editors who are the backbone of JSIS (note: manuscript submissions in 2019 were approximately 280 and we are on-track for a similar number in 2020, with the overall acceptance rate well below 10%).


Building on this success, JSIS is undergoing structural changes broadly motivated by the intention to continue aligning with evolving Association for Information Systems (AIS) aims. We have commenced several structural changes which will be completed by end 2020, intended to further amplify equity, transparency, and accountability. From the report we recognize we must be vigilant and that we have some work to do with ethnic balance, but we unashamedly quote the report authors, who write (p.11) “Looking at all three dimensions together (gender, region and ethnicity), we see that for most of the journals, their boards deviate from the reasonably expected numbers in most categories.
