Position Announcement:

The Stephenson Department of Entrepreneurship and Information Systems at Louisiana State University is officially announcing an opening for an Assistant Professor of Information Systems.  The Assistant Professor in the Stephenson is to play a leading role in the growth and development of the department and the College of Business.  The position will require the Assistant Professor of Information Systems to teach in the graduate and undergraduate levels of the department and to also conduct research that will enhance not only their record of excellence but also the department's.

Minimum Qualifications:

PhD in Information Systems or a related field. ABD candidates will be considered. Degree must be conferred by time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications:

1-3 years of experience. Evidence of teaching excellence at the college level and significant academic research potential.

The Stephenson Department of Entrepreneurship & Information Systems (SDEIS) has multiple missions. In addition to equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed to start a business, be a productive member of an entrepreneurial business, and become an effective manager in a growing business, it strives to produce graduates who excel in the area of information systems and business analytics.    Our information systems & decision sciences curriculum prepares students to design, implement, analyze, and manage information technology systems. Research collaborations leverage the diverse research interests and expertise of our faculty in domains as varied as medical informatics, e-commerce, disaster management, IT outsourcing, data mining, quantitative modeling, privacy/ethics, global e-business, the strategic use of technology, and traffic safety. These collaborative research efforts have resulted in major grant funding received from the National Science Foundation and elsewhere.
