Project researcher/postdoctoral researcher


School of History, Culture and Arts Studies at the University of Turku opens
the position of project researcher /postdoctoral researcher at the Centre of
Excellence in Game Culture Studies 1.1.2021–31.12.2022

is part of the Centre of Excellence in Game Culture Studies (
<https://coe-gamecult.org/> https://coe-gamecult.org/).

The project researcher/postdoctoral researcher participates in research
related to the Societal Framing of Games work packages (Institutionalization
of Digital Game Cultures; Public Discourses of Gaming; Gamification in
Culture and Society) by examining the effects of gamification using
quantitative methods.

The project researcher/postdoctoral researcher works together with the
Gamification Group research group (https://www.tut.fi/Gamification/) of the
University of Tampere, led by Professor Juho Hamari.

The researcher is required to have an existing feasible research plan for
the topic, according to which the research can be practicable in two years.

A person selected for the post of project researcher is required to have a
higher university degree. When assessing the merits of the applicants,
special emphasis will be placed on competence and practical expertise in the
field in question.

The salary is determined in accordance with the university salary system for
teaching and research personnel. The salary is at level 4 on the job demands
chart, where the task specific salary component is 2,575.91 euros per month.
In addition, a personal work performance component will be paid. The
personal work performance component is 6–50% of the task specific salary
component.

A person selected for the post of postdoctoral researcher is required to
have a doctoral degree and the ability to conduct independent scientific
work as well as having the necessary teaching skills.

The salary is determined in accordance with the university salary system for
teaching and research personnel. The salary is at level 5 on the job demands
chart, where the task specific salary component is 2,982.68 euros per month.
In addition, a personal work performance component will be paid. The
personal work performance component is 6–50% of the task specific salary
component.

The place of performance of the work may be Turku or Pori.
