Dear Colleagues and Students,
Three funded Doctoral Research Fellowships (SKO 1017) are available at Kristiania University College (Oslo - Kvadraturen Campus). Each successful candidate is expected to participate in Kristiania’s organized research training, and participate in the activities of one of Kristiania’s research groups and contribute to its development. The fellowships are limited to 3 years and shall result in a doctoral thesis that will be defended with the objective of obtaining the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). The candidates must get accepted to a PhD program at Kristiania or one of Kristiania’s partner universities within 6 months from the starting date of the fellowship.
The three fellowships are in the following research areas:
Data Science
We offer a PhD fellowship in the area of data science and invite proposals for a thesis work investigating novel applications of data science in the domain of (big) data analytics. Preferred areas of research are data analytics in public procurement, supply chains, sustainability, or a related field. The successful applicant will be part of the Innovation and Digitalization for Enterprises And Society Lab (IDEAS Lab), and is expected to contribute to the lab’s research, network, and development.
Information Systems
We invite proposals for a PhD fellowship on the digital future of retailing. This research project aims to provide authoritative and expert research on how digitalization drives the rapid pace of change that is currently reshaping the customer journey. Examples of areas include online shopping, seamless shopping, use of technology when shopping in physical stores, sustainable food choice using blockchain, and technology that facilitates healthy choice. The successful candidate will join the Behavior & Technology Lab (BTLab) and contribute to experimental studies on how digitalization is changing the retail landscape that impacts the customer journey.
Computer Science
We offer a PhD fellowship in the extended area of mobile technologies and invite proposals for thesis work researching topics such as, but not limited to, software architecture, mobile solutions, Internet of things, blockchain technologies, and edge based machine learning on data that users produce, share or trade. The successful candidate will join in the Mobile Technology Lab (MOTEL) and be part of our focus pursuing groundbreaking results within transdisciplinary applied research at the intersections of Computer Science and software engineering.
Requirements for applicants:
The applicants must hold a master’s degree (with minimum grade B average) in areas relevant to the proposed projects/areas. The candidates will also need to demonstrate strong academic ambitions, a good level of spoken and written English, possess good interpersonal skills and communication skills. Proficiency of a Scandinavia language is an advantage, but not a requirement.
