Dear IS community,

We have recently established a Technical Committee (TC) on Blockchain and
Distributed Ledger Technologies at IEEE Technology andEngineering
Management Society (TEMS) – see https://www.ieee-tems.org/tc-blockchain-dlt/
.

The objective is to *facilitate and promote research,
education, commercialization, and collaboration on the topic of blockchain
and other DLTacross different disciplines and countries, with the objective
of contributing to the long-term technological competitiveness of
blockchain and our society*. It is also envisioned that in the next two to
three years, the TC will introduce early- and mid-career awards to
recognize outstanding researchers who have made a significant contribution
to blockchain research and development, innovation, and/or
entrepreneurship, as well as outstanding service awards to recognize
individuals for their outstanding services to the TC.

Given that blockchain is a topic of ongoing interest in the IS community,
and has featured in key IS conferences - ICIS, ECIS, AMCIS, PACIS, and
ACIS, *we welcome IS researchers and practitioners to join the TC as one of
the founding members*.

Currently, we have a number of confirmed special interest groups (SIGs) and
subcommittees, with several more (e.g., from non-profit and private sector)
pending. However, *we certainly welcome applications from the IS community
to form new SIGs, which will serve your community and also leverage this TC
as a platform to collaborate with researchers from other disciplines,
sectors and countries*.

Please do not hesitate to reach out if you need further information, and I
look forward to receiving your expression of interest.

Cheers,
Raymond
