ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (TENURE TRACK) IN INFORMATION SYSTEMS FOR FAIR ECOSYSTEM DESIGN Are you a talented computer scientist? JOB DESCRIPTION
Fair software ecosystems aim at networks of actors with environmental and societal goals, for example as stated in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations, rather than to profit maximization only. Examples include information systems research topics focusing on the improvement of (environmental) sustainability, digital inclusion, fair trade, quality-of-service, digital democracy, and social communities.

We are looking for a tenure-track assistant professor who collaborates intensively with other disciplines and builds bridges. You are experienced in interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research. You are an expert on at least one of the mentioned disciplines including, but not limited to innovative business models, application-level blockchain technology, ecosystem- and decentralized platform design, decentralized autonomous organizations, ICT4D. Besides, you have knowledge about conceptual modeling and requirements engineering. You are an active researcher able to perform quality research, link this research to the ongoing developments in technology, business and society, and connect it to our bachelor and master-level education.


Your duties
The position includes research, education and management (40%:40%:20%) and contains among others the following responsibilities:
- Shape and lead a research program around fair software ecosystems
- Build an active national and international network in your research field
- Contribute to administrative tasks
- Teach our education programs in the Information Sciences (IS) by initiating/developing and planning 2-3 courses in the IS for sustainability, as well as in the supervision of bachelor and master thesis projects. You will be encouraged to further improve education
- Where relevant, collaborate between the existing groups in the department

REQUIREMENTS
- A PhD degree and postdoc experience in Computer Science, Information Sciences, or a closely related field
- Academic teaching experience, preferably with experience in the supervision of MSc and/or PhD students
- An academic publication profile showing experience in relevant journals and conferences
- Either in possession of, or willing to obtain, a teaching qualification ('BKO')
- Experience with attracting research funding, either individually or collaboratively
- Good interpersonal communication skills
- English language proficiency

WHAT ARE WE OFFERING?
A challenging position in a socially involved organization. On full-time basis the remuneration amounts to a minimum gross monthly salary of €3,746 (scale 11) and a maximum €5,127 (scale 11), depending on your education and experience. The job profile: is based on the university job ranking system and is vacant for at least 0.8 FTE.
This is a tenure track position; the initial appointment will be for a period of five years. Based on performance indicators agreed at the start of the appointment, a tenure track position will lead to a tenured position of assistant professor 1 (scale 12)  in a period of maximally 5 years. In the fifth year of the appointment, the tenure decision will be taken and a midterm review will take place in 2,5 years’ time after the starting date.
