Although the popularity and adoption of process mining techniques snowballed
in recent years, a large portion of effort invested in process mining
initiatives is still consumed by event data preparation rather than process
analysis (often estimated 80% for organizations starting with process
mining). The IEEE Task Force on Process Mining (https://www.tf-pm.org/) is
conducting a study focused on the challenges faced during event data
preparation (from source data to event log).
Not only will the results steer the current XES standard (https://www.tf-pm.
org/resources/xes-standard) towards an evolution for both industry and
academia, but also pre-qualify thought leaders for participating in the XES
2.0 workshop hosted as part of this year’s ICPM conference
(https://icpmconference.org/2021/).
You are invited to participate in the survey at
https://forms.gle/b9X4JuKQPhj3aQYFA
before June 30th, based on your experience as
(i) a practitioner (i.e., for commercial usage),
(ii) a researcher,
(iii) a software vendor, or
(iv) a consultant.
The results will be discussed and presented in a dedicated workshop that
will take place on November 2nd, the day before the Industry Day at the
International Conference on Process Mining (ICPM 2021) in Eindhoven.
