Dear colleagues,

There are currently multiple opportunities for motivated research students to be part of an innovative PhD training program provided through the Australian Research Council's (ARC) Industrial Transformation Training Centre for Information Resilience (CIRES - see https://cires.org.au/). Our Centre’s objective is to enable Australian organisations to achieve responsible, secure, and agile value creation from data.

Through our Centre, we offer research students the opportunity for collaboration with university and industry partner supervisors on projects with real world impact. These PhD projects come with a one year placement with the industry partner during the program, and a generous scholarship package.

We are currently inviting applications for PhD students to work on the following projects across five of the Centre’s research themes:
- Community Attitude to Law Enforcement Data
- Advancing Deep Neural Network Reliability During Dataset Shift
- Expanding Data Sets to Allow Improved Critical Care for Children - Outpatient Risk Prediction
- Improving Sepsis Management through Better Data and Rapid Learning
- Expanding Data Sets to Allow Improved Critical Care for Children – Inpatient Risk Prediction

Further details are available at https://scholarships.uq.edu.au/scholarship/arc-training-centre-information-resilience-cires-phd-scholarships and https://cires.org.au/study-with-us/. Please contact the Centre's Manager, Kate Aldridge (k.aldridge at uq.edu.au<mailto:k.aldridge at uq.edu.au>) with any questions.

I would appreciate if you could forward this email to interested students. Applications close on Sunday 12th September 2021, 11pm AEST

Thank you,
Marta
