[AISWorld] WISE 2021 Early Registration Deadline is now October 6, 2021

Hello everyone,

The early registration deadline for the 2021 edition of the Workshop on Information Systems and Economics (WISE 2021<http://www.wiseconf.org/>) has been extended to October 6, 2021.

In accordance with the resumption of regular physical classes and other academic activities from Summer/Fall 2021, WISE 2021 is scheduled as an in-person event.  This is of course subject to any COVID-related revisions from the government.  The workshop will be held in the campus of the University of Texas at Austin, December 16-17, 2021, with a reception on 15th evening.

The theme of WISE 2021 is Economics of Information Systems in the Algorithmic Era. Every aspect of life is now guided by artificial intelligence. In parallel, many people now trust platforms and algorithms more than their own governments and civic society. Given the ubiquity and sheer preponderance of algorithmic decision making that permeates every aspect of our lives, we need a better understanding of the role of equity and bias-sensitive design of information systems. While there is considerable inquiry into the role bias engendered by algorithms, this workshop actively seeks to promote research that not only illuminates the sources of algorithmic discrimination, but also organization design and incentive systems can overcome the sources of such biases.

Note: The presenting author must be registered by the early registration deadline, otherwise the paper will be withdrawn from the program

Lodging & Registration

We have arranged for a block for rooms at a discounted rate at the AT&T Hotel and Conference Center, which will also host the workshop.  There are also several other hotels in the vicinity.  Further details on lodging and travel will be available at the workshop website in due course of time.
