TITLE: Assistant Professor in Information Systems
ABOUT THE POSITION: The College of Business at The University of Alabama in
Huntsville invites
applications for a tenure track position in information systems at the
assistant professor level. We
seek applicants who welcome the challenges and rewards of serving on a
diverse and intellectually
curious faculty of a growing college located in a dynamic and supportive
high technology
community.
Responsibilities: Conduct and publish high quality scholarly research in a
collegial environment in
which both intra-and inter-disciplinary collaborations are valued.
Effectively teach information
systems courses to support graduate and undergraduate Information Systems,
Analytics, and
Cybersecurity programs in face-to-face or online modes as needed by the
college. The college has
strong cybersecurity programs at the undergraduate and graduate level.
Ability to teach courses
like cybersecurity management in these programs would be a significant plus
for a potential
candidate. Participate actively in the profession, university service and
outreach to the local
community, including U.S. federal government agencies with operations in
the Huntsville area.
Qualifications: A PhD in Information Systems or a closely related field is
required. A PhD from an
AACSB accredited institution is preferred. Ability to teach graduate and
undergraduate information
systems courses. We prefer candidates who have a strong academic
background, the ability to
conduct research that is publishable in high quality journals, a commitment
to excellence in
graduate and undergraduate education, and the potential to engage in
projects with companies,
organizations, and government agencies in the Huntsville community. ABD
candidates will be
considered; however, all requirements for the doctoral degree must be
completed by August 1,
2022 to be appointed at the rank of Assistant Professor.
